Pevely, Missouri – A mother in Missouri is facing charges after admitting to shooting her daughter and drowning her son in a resort fountain, according to authorities. Ashley Parmeley, 36, was arrested on May 28 and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of her 2-year-old son. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is also investigating the death of Parmeley’s 9-year-old daughter.
Authorities believe both children were killed on the morning of May 28. Parmeley walked into a police station, soaked from head to toe, and confessed to the murders. Her daughter was found dead inside Parmeley’s car, which was parked in front of the police station. The tragic incident has left the community in shock and mourning.
Scarlet Parmeley, the 9-year-old victim, was described by her teacher as a kind and vibrant little girl who loved storytelling and playing softball. The Festus School District, where Scarlet attended, is grieving the loss of a beloved student.
