On the 16th of March, Quavi Young, aged 26, was apprehended by police in Cocoa, Florida, after officers claimed she had threatened a McDonald’s employee and brandished a gun at them. Consequently, Young was booked with three charges: aggravated assault with a weapon, openly carrying a weapon and operating a vehicle with a suspended license.
The arrest report stated that Young had driven to the drive-thru speaker and requested a meal that was not on the menu. After being told that her order could not be taken, she proceeded to the first window and insisted on her order. When the employee inquired her about her agitation, Young reportedly took out her gun and said she would “push her stuff back”, before moving to the next window.
When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a black M&P gun with a 50-round drum-style magazine on the passenger seat of Young’s vehicle. Employees at McDonald’s informed police that this was her second visit to the restaurant that night, without providing any further information. Young confessed to officers that her license had been suspended.
Young is due to appear in court for her arraignment on April 13, 2023.
