Miami, FL – Two former college hockey players tragically lost their lives in an apparent murder-suicide on Saturday. The incident occurred at a condo complex in Miami, where a man, who was dating one of the victims, carried out the devastating act.
The Miami-Dade police received a call reporting gunshots and promptly arrived at the scene. Outside of an apartment, they discovered a woman who had been shot. As officers assessed the situation, they heard additional shots originating from inside the residence.
Upon entering the apartment, law enforcement found another woman with a gunshot wound and a man with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. All three individuals were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the police.
The victims have been identified as Meghan Moore, 25, and her roommate Sidney Capolino, 23. The assailant, Luis Napoles, 40, was Moore’s boyfriend, authorities revealed.
A shocking sequence of events unfolded as Napoles shot Moore outside the apartment, then proceeded to take the lives of Capolino and ultimately himself.
Moore and Capolino had both played together on the women’s hockey team at New England College. According to a statement from the school, Moore graduated in 2021, while Capolino completed her studies the following year.
