A tragic incident unfolded in Cohasset, Massachusetts, as a two-year-old boy lost his life in an accident at an auto repair shop, according to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office. The toddler was found with severe injuries near Hajj Auto Service on South Main Street, prompting an immediate investigation by local authorities.
The boy was in the company of his grandfather when a large piece of construction equipment fell on him. The grandfather, in a desperate bid to save his grandson, rushed him to the local police station around 12:30 p.m. following the accident.
The toddler was subsequently transported to South Shore Hospital, where he was unfortunately pronounced dead. The police have stated that the incident does not seem to involve any criminal activity. However, the identity of the person operating the equipment at the time of the accident has not been revealed.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has also been called in to conduct an independent investigation into the accident. As of now, no further details about the incident have been released.
Quigley reassured the public that there doesn’t seem to be any foul play involved in the incident. He also mentioned that an employee who witnessed the accident was provided medical assistance, and officers on the scene were deeply affected by the tragic event.
The state police and the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office are actively involved in the ongoing investigation.
