Los Angeles – April 18, 2007 – Gunfire erupted on the Virginia Tech campus Monday in the Blue Ridge Mountains, killing at least 33 people in a dorm and an academic building, in attacks more than two hours apart.

According to federal law-enforcement officials, this attack was the deadliest shooting rampage in American history.

Upon learning of this news, 2008 Presidential Candidate condemned the attacks and offered condolences to the nation, the victims, and their families.

“First of all, I offer my deepest sympathy to the victims and families of this terrible attack. These were not just students who were killed in this attack; they were our sons and daughters,” stated Imperato.

“I want to let the students, faculty, staff, and the entire Virginia Tech family know that they are in our prayers and that we, as a nation, morn deeply for their loss. While we are still in shock from such an awful act, I hope that everyone can find strength and support during these trying times.”

In addition, Imperato called on the fellow universities around the country to show support for Virginia Tech.

“I now call on all of the universities and their student bodies to remember and pay tribute to those who have left us as a result of this attack. I believe that the students of this country can show great solidarity and support for their brothers and sisters at Virginia Tech during these tough times.”

Several universities are now starting to organize vigils in remembrance of the fallen students.
