Sioux City, Iowa — In a horrifying incident late Thursday, a grandmother in Sioux City was brutally attacked and subsequently murdered, allegedly by her daughter and granddaughter. The assault, which involved a butcher knife, a hammer, and a glass candlestick, occurred following a domestic dispute within the victim’s apartment.

According to Sioux City police, the argument between Suzette Occhibone and her daughter, Jessica Bino, 32, quickly escalated when Angela Bino, 59, joined in and the verbal confrontation turned violent. Court documents reportedly reveal that the elderly woman was beaten with fists before being struck multiple times with a hammer and a glass candlestick in the face and arms.

Amidst this onslaught, Jessica Bino is alleged to have seized a butcher knife from the kitchen, using it to stab Occhibone multiple times in the head, chest, and face. The brutal attack culminated in the tragic death of the victim. Following the incident, witnesses reported seeing the mother and daughter attempting to conceal the crime by moving the body to a vehicle.

Sioux City law enforcement responded to the scene in a parking lot, where Occhibone was declared dead. Police subsequently arrested Jessica and Angela Bino inside the apartment. Both are now facing first-degree murder charges and are being held in jail on a $500,000 bond each.

The gruesome nature of the crime, particularly the involvement of close family members, has left the Sioux City community in shock. The police are continuing their investigation into the events leading up to the assault, while details of the argument that sparked the tragic incident remain unclear. This case underscores the sometimes hidden and complex nature of domestic violence, often involving those closest to the victims.
