MINNEAPOLIS, MN – A man’s body was found concealed in a garbage can in Minneapolis, and authorities have ruled his death a homicide, according to a report from the Hennepin County Medical Examiner. The victim, identified as 51-year-old Reid Christopher Johnson, sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) discovered Johnson’s body on Sunday at an unoccupied house on the 700 block of 30th Ave N. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.

The grim discovery was made by a real estate agent who had been preparing the home for an open house. The agent initially noticed an unattended car in the property’s garage on Saturday and alerted the authorities. However, when the agent returned on Sunday, the car had vanished, replaced by a large garbage bin. It was during the agent’s attempt to move the bin that Johnson’s body was uncovered.

The home where the body was discovered is currently vacant and up for sale, further complicating the investigation. The Minneapolis Police Department is urging anyone with information about the incident to contact CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or submit any tips electronically through their official website.

As investigators continue their efforts, there are no further details available on the motive or potential suspects in Johnson’s tragic and untimely death.
