North Las Vegas, Nev. – A man who carried out a deadly shooting spree in an apartment complex in North Las Vegas took his own life on Tuesday, authorities confirm. The shooter, identified as Eric Adams, 47, was the suspected perpetrator of the mass shooting that took place on Monday evening. According to the North Las Vegas Police Department, Adams died by suicide on Tuesday morning.
The tragic incident unfolded near Commerce Street and Lone Mountain Road, where Adams fatally shot five people and left a 13-year-old girl in critical condition. The victims included four women, one in her 40s, one in her late 50s, and two in their mid-20s, as well as a man in his early 20s. The injured girl was rushed to University Medical Center, where she remains in critical condition.
Law enforcement officers discovered the bodies of the two older women during their initial investigation. Subsequent information led them to the younger victims and the young man. The manhunt for Adams, who was considered armed and dangerous, extended throughout the night until Tuesday morning.
Around 10 a.m., the police located Adams at a business in the 1500 block of Lake Mead Boulevard, near M.L.K. Boulevard. Adams then fled into the backyard of a nearby residence, prompting authorities to order him to drop his weapon. Tragically, he refused their commands, turned the gun on himself, and took his own life.
Authorities have described the incident as an “isolated event.” However, no further details about the motive or circumstances surrounding the shooting have been released at this time.
