Dallas, Texas – Two teenage girls have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a young man near Victory Park early Sunday morning. The 16 and 15-year-old suspects, whose names are being withheld due to their ages, are facing charges of capital murder in the death of 18-year-old Jake Reynosa.
Dallas Police Department officers were called to the 2500 block of N. Houston Street on July 14 following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered Reynosa lying on the street with gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Homicide investigators determined that Reynosa was shot after having an encounter with multiple individuals. Police managed to locate the teenage suspects and initiated a traffic stop, but the girls fled the scene on foot. Shortly after, authorities apprehended the 15-year-old suspect and took her into custody. The 16-year-old was arrested the following day.
