Several individuals have been apprehended in relation to the overdose death of Matthew Perry, as per recent reports. The individuals arrested include a medical professional and multiple alleged drug dealers, following an investigation initiated by law enforcement into Perry’s untimely demise. Perry, a 54-year-old actor best known for his role in the popular sitcom “Friends,” had a history of battling addiction. He was discovered deceased in his hot tub in October, with traces of ketamine found in his system.
Law enforcement officials have reportedly seized various electronic devices, including computers and phones, in an effort to trace the source of the illicitly obtained ketamine that led to Perry’s death. The arrested individuals are believed to have facilitated the procurement and delivery of the ketamine to Perry.
The investigation reportedly uncovered text messages that discussed Perry and the delivery of ketamine to him. These messages also allegedly contained conversations about the amount Perry was willing to pay for the drug.
Authorities also obtained a search warrant for Brooke Mueller, the ex-spouse of actor Charlie Sheen, who was undergoing treatment alongside Perry. However, it has been clarified that Mueller is not implicated in the arrests.
An arrest was made in Southern California on Thursday in connection with Perry’s death, as reported by NBC News. The investigation, which was confirmed in May, involves the DEA, U.S. Postal Service, and LAPD.
Perry was found dead in his home’s jacuzzi in the upscale Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles in October. Initial reports suggested that he had drowned, but a toxicology report later confirmed that his death was due to the acute effects of ketamine.
