Kyle Marisa Roth, a well-known personality on the social media platform TikTok, tragically passed away at the age of 36 in early April. The cause of death, as determined by Maryland’s chief medical examiner, was cardiac arrhythmia brought on by myocardial fibrosis. This condition, which results in an irregular heartbeat due to scarring on the heart muscle, was identified as the natural cause of her death. In addition to this, Roth had tested positive for diphenhydramine, a widely used antihistamine, and mitragynine, an alkaloid typically used for pain relief.
Roth had amassed a significant following on TikTok, with over 175,000 followers who enjoyed her candid commentary on celebrities. She had also openly shared her personal journey as a survivor of colon cancer, demonstrating her resilience in the face of numerous health challenges. In a post on Instagram in February, she provided a detailed account of her medical history, which included multiple surgeries, broken bones, car accidents, and concussions, among other incidents.
Roth’s sister, Lindsay, announced the sad news of her passing on April 15 through an Instagram post. She expressed the family’s bewilderment about the circumstances surrounding her death. Lindsay also took the opportunity to praise her sister’s humor, intelligence, beauty, and activism, and invited others to share their memories of Roth.
Roth’s mother, Jacquie Cohen Roth, also publicly acknowledged her daughter’s passing on LinkedIn. She recognized the profound impact Roth had on many lives, both on a personal level and through her online presence.
Following the announcement of her death, numerous celebrities and fellow TikTokers paid their respects to Roth. Julia Fox, the star of “Uncut Gems,” commented on Lindsay’s post, expressing her devastation despite never having met Roth in person. Bunnie Xo, wife of country star Jelly Roll, expressed her sorrow on Roth’s last TikTok post. Other TikTokers, such as Ophelia Nichols and the Zoe Roe Show account, also shared their grief and disbelief at Roth’s passing.
Roth was recognized for her catchphrase, “You want more? I’ll give you more,” which she frequently used to kick off her TikToks. Her sudden death has left a significant gap in the TikTok community, where she was admired for her humor, resilience, and candidness.
