A Thai man had a terrifying encounter with a 12-foot python that bit him in a sensitive area while he was using the restroom. In an unexpected twist, the man was able to kill the snake using a toilet brush, resulting in a bloody mess in his bathroom. The incident was captured in graphic images that have since been widely circulated on social media.
The victim of the snake attack, Thanat Thangtewanon, described feeling a sharp pain after sitting down on the toilet. Upon further inspection, he was horrified to discover that he had come into contact with a snake. Despite his efforts to dislodge the python, it stubbornly clung on, forcing Thangtewanon to use a toilet brush to beat the snake until it let go.
Thangtewanon described the experience as extremely painful, with blood splattered all over the bathroom. However, his surprise at finding a python in his toilet was even more profound. He was able to share images of the dead snake on social media, which quickly gained attention.
Following the incident, Thangtewanon was rushed to a hospital where he received a tetanus vaccine. Luckily, he did not require stitches. Reflecting on the incident, he expressed relief that the snake was not venomous, acknowledging that a cobra could have been fatal. Since the incident, he has avoided using the same toilet.
The exact location of the attack within Thailand was not specified in the reports. However, this is not the first time such an incident has occurred in the country. In recent years, several other individuals have reported being bitten by snakes while using the toilet.
In 2016, a 10-foot python bit a man’s penis in the Chachoengsao province. The man was able to wrestle the snake off and was briefly hospitalized. In 2020, a woman was bitten on the thigh by a snake while using the toilet, leading her to beat it with a hammer. Later that year, another woman was bitten on the buttocks by a 7-foot python in the Samut Prakan province. In 2023, a woman from the same province found a 12-foot python in her toilet but was not bitten.
These incidents serve as a stark reminder of the unexpected dangers that can lurk in the most mundane of places, even in the privacy of one’s own bathroom.
