An Indiana resident, Kobe Blake, 37, has been charged with multiple counts, including aggravated battery, intimidation, robbery, and auto theft, following an alleged assault on an acquaintance. Court records reveal that Blake was arrested on September 11 for an incident that reportedly took place in July.

According to the court documents, Blake is accused of assaulting the victim with a golf club in the victim’s home on the night of July 3. The assault resulted in skull and facial fractures for the victim. Blake is also accused of robbing the victim, taking two gaming consoles, an Xbox and a Nintendo Switch, and fleeing the scene in the victim’s F-150 pickup truck.

The assault has left the victim with permanent vision loss in one eye, as reported by the police. The two men had reportedly spent the evening together, visiting various locations and at least one bar before the alleged assault. The incident reportedly occurred after they returned to the victim’s home, where they allegedly consumed marijuana and methamphetamine.

Blake reportedly confessed to the police about his involvement in the assault. When asked if he used a golf club during the assault, Blake reportedly responded, “I can’t say no.” He also expressed remorse for his actions, stating that he wanted to erase the memory of the night.

The most severe charge against Blake carries a potential maximum sentence of 16 years in prison. Additionally, Blake could face a habitual offender enhancement, which could add up to 20 more years to any sentence if he is convicted.

Blake’s next court appearance, a pretrial conference, is scheduled for October 23, according to an online court docket. Jail records indicate that Blake is no longer in custody.
