Violent Rampage at Hospital Leaves Two Dead

In the early hours of a recent Saturday, a series of violent incidents unfolded, leading to two deaths and a sheriff’s deputy being put on administrative leave. The events began in a grocery store parking lot and escalated rapidly, leaving the local community reeling from the shock.

Around midnight, a man was spotted on security cameras at Lakes Harvest Foods. The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office believes this individual was involved in multiple incidents throughout the night. The video footage showed him starting a brush fire near the parking lot, attempting to extinguish it, and then reigniting it shortly after.

Emergency services responded within ten minutes. However, the suspect remained nearby, circling the parking lot before parking his vehicle in front of the store. He was seen consuming something from his trunk before departing the scene.

The situation worsened when the suspect allegedly entered a home in a nearby neighborhood around 1:40 a.m., firing several rounds of ammunition while the residents sought shelter. The tranquility of the neighborhood was shattered, leaving residents, such as Shelly Quigley who was awakened by the gunfire, in a state of shock.

The suspect’s violent spree continued to Eastern State Hospital, where he reportedly shot an employee. It is believed that he took the employee’s radio, broadcasting eerie warnings of an impending army.

Upon the deputies’ arrival at the hospital, a gunfight broke out with the suspect, who was later found deceased near his vehicle. A rifle and a handgun were recovered from the scene, and the suspect was found wearing tactical gear.

The Spokane Independent Investigative Response Team has assumed control of the investigation. The deputy involved in the incident has been placed on administrative leave, with the Sheriff’s Office planning to reveal the deputy’s identity at a later date.
