US House Speaker and Knesset Speaker team up to lobby for President Trump’s Nobel Peace Prize nomination.

The Speaker of the Knesset and Speaker of the US House of Representatives signed a joint letter on Tuesday recommending that President Donald Trump be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, citing his role in brokering the October Gaza ceasefire, the Abraham Accords, and other international peace deals.
On Tuesday, Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana (Likud) met with House Speaker Mike Johnson on Capitol Hill, during which the two signed a letter endorsing President Trump’s nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize.
“Today, I had the honor of jointly signing, together with my friend Speaker Johnson, a letter recommending to nominate President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, as part of a global parliamentary initiative,” Ohana wrote on his X account Tuesday.
“There is not a single person in the world who has done more for peace over the past year than
POTUS, and no one more deserving of recognition for the efforts and results that have saved the lives of so many people around the world, including in Israel.”
Ohana urged other parliamentary leaders to join the endorsement.
“The ‘peace through strength’ policy is the one and only way to ensure true and lasting peace. I call on our colleagues – Heads of Parliaments from across the globe – to join us by signing the recommendation letter to nominate President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.”
Johnson issued a separate statement announcing the joint letter with Ohana, and praised President Trump’s work to achieve peace in the Middle East and to secure the return of the hostages from Gaza.
“I am proud to announce that, together with my friend Speaker Ohana, we are working to rally speakers and presidents of parliaments to submit President Trump’s nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize.”
“While the world has sought peace in the Middle East for generations, President Trump has now created the path for it and forced the release of the last living hostages, who survived two long years in Hamas captivity.”
In their letter, Johnson and Ohana cited multiple achievements of the Trump administration, including the Gaza ceasefire and return of the hostages and the Abraham Accords, along with accomplishments outside of the Middle East such as brokering a ceasefire between Pakistan and India, securing a peace deal between Thailand and Cambodia, helping to reach a peace deal between Armenia and Azerbaijan, de-escalating tensions between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and helping to normalize ties between Serbia and Kosovo.
