Police were called to the home of a Jewish congressman in Ohio this week, after a group of pro-Hamas demonstrators camped outside of his house Sunday night to mark the first anniversary of the October 7th invasion of Israel by the Islamist terror group.

The incident occurred in the Mount Washington neighborhood of Cincinnati, when anti-Israel activists wearing keffiyehs set up an encampment outside the home of Rep. Greg Landsman, the Democrat representing Ohio’s First Congressional District.

The activists set up displays showing the number of fatalities the Gaza health ministry claims have occurred in the war since October 7th, Palestinian flags, and the mock house exterior covered with statistics regarding the war.

On Sunday evening, the demonstrators marched near Landsman’s house, carrying fake bodies in a mock funeral procession.

Police later arrived on scene to escort Landsman’s family in and out of their home.

The demonstration was organized by Midwest Direct Action 4 Pali, which released a statement via Instagram defending the protest and condemning Landsman’s votes in favor of aid packages to Israel.

“On the eve of the one year mark since the beginning of the genocide in Palestine, local activists in Cincinnati have gathered outside Congressman Greg Landsman’s house to denounce his votes to conceal the death toll and continue funding mass murder in Gaza. We mark in solemn vigil that we will not rest until the genocide is over and Palestine is free.”

In a statement, Landsman castigated the demonstrators, accusing them of attempting to “intimidate” a Jewish family on the anniversary of the deadliest attack on Jews since the Holocaust.

“On the eve of the one-year anniversary of the October 7th terror attacks, when Jews were brutally murdered and kidnapped, these people came to the home of a Jewish family at night, dressed in all black and fully masked,” Landsman said.

“My daughter and I will be attending a service to bear witness to the atrocious terror attacks of October 7th. Meanwhile, these people will be outside of my house, in an attempt to intimidate my Jewish family every time we try to leave our home.

“They’ve done this to my staff and me for nearly a year, and now they’re doing it to my family and neighbors. I don’t think they have any boundaries at this point.”
