San Francisco, CA – A San Francisco tech worker was found dead in her apartment, leading to murder charges against her boyfriend. Kimberly Wong, 27, was discovered during a well-being check conducted by the city’s police department on November 30. Scott Fisher, 29, was taken into custody a week later and now faces formal charges for the crime as of Monday.
Authorities have yet to disclose a motive for the murder. District Attorney Brooke Jenkins expressed her condolences to Wong’s loved ones and stated the commitment to pursue justice in court. Fisher allegedly used a knife to kill Wong, who was his girlfriend and lived with him in the same residence. He is currently being held in jail without bail. Wong worked as a product designer for Plaid, a financial services company, since 2021. Prior to that, she had worked for cybersecurity company Splunk for approximately four years. Wong attended the University of Washington before embarking on her career in the tech industry. Fisher, a University of California at Berkeley graduate, also had a job in the tech sector.
