Christmas Day Altercation at Airport Turns Violent, Three Shot, Another Stabbed

A family disagreement escalated into violence at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on Christmas Day, leaving three people with gunshot wounds and another with a stab injury, according to local law enforcement. The incident unfolded around 9:45 p.m. at a restaurant situated before the security checkpoint in Terminal Four. An individual involved in the dispute allegedly pulled out a firearm and started shooting.

Among the injured were three people who sustained gunshot wounds, including a woman who is currently in critical condition. Police officers also found a man with a stab wound and an unharmed minor in the airport’s parking garage.

Sgt. Mayra Reeson, in an early Thursday press briefing, suggested that the incident was a family dispute that spiraled out of control. All four individuals involved were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention. The woman who was shot remains in critical condition, while the two other gunshot victims and the man who was stabbed are reported to be in stable condition.

The identities of those involved in the incident have not been disclosed by the authorities. The violent confrontation led to a temporary closure of the terminal’s security checkpoint and restaurants, as confirmed by airport officials and police.
