On Thursday, two newborn infants were found dead at a daycare center in Chicago when a cleaning crew discovered them in a restroom.
The Chicago Police Department responded to the childcare facility in the 400 block of East Ontario in the Streeterville area at around 6:59 p.m. and found the babies unresponsive in a trash bag.
The infants were then taken to Lurie Children’s Hospital, where they were declared dead. A woman in the facility was also moved to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where she was treated for unknown injuries.
A spokesperson from Northwestern Medicine declared an “emergency medical situation involving a daycare employee.”
At present, police have not arrested any suspects, and they are investigating the deaths.
Furthermore, no information has been released. The police have classified the case as endangering the life or health of children. The hospital has stated that they are cooperating with the police investigation but could not provide more details.
