WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Tennessee — Grammy-winning musician Darius Rucker was arrested on Thursday on a minor drug offense in Williamson County. The 57-year-old country star was charged with two counts of simple possession/casual exchange of a controlled substance, as well as one count of violating Tennessee’s vehicle registration law. While authorities did not reveal the specific controlled substance, Rucker’s attorney confirmed his client’s cooperation with the authorities.

After being taken into custody by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Rucker was later released on a $10,500 bond. Details regarding the circumstances leading to his arrest are currently unknown.

This incident comes just months after Rucker released his latest album, Carolyn’s Boy, in October. Dedicated to his late mother, the album is a deeply personal collection of songs that holds special significance for the artist. Rucker, who lost his mother in 1992, expressed his hopes of making her proud through his music.

In December, the former Hootie & the Blowfish frontman was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. During the ceremony, Rucker spoke fondly of his three children, Carolyn, Daniella, and Jack, emphasizing their importance in his life. He acknowledged that despite his achievements, being a father remained the most rewarding aspect of his life.

As the legal proceedings unfold, Rucker’s fans and the music community are eagerly waiting for further updates on the situation.
