A couple from Washington state is facing serious charges after allegedly luring a man from Oregon into a deadly trap. The pair, identified as 24-year-old Jamari Khayelle Webb and 26-year-old Ashley Danielle Arrieta, are accused of enticing the victim with the promise of sexual favors, only to murder him upon his arrival.
The victim, 27-year-old Hector Gonzalez Jimenez, was reportedly visiting from Oregon when he encountered Arrieta at a strip club in Parkland. After negotiating a $1,500 payment for sexual services via Zelle, Jimenez was directed to a hotel room in Tacoma.
However, upon his arrival at the Tacoma Holiday Inn on August 25, the situation took a deadly turn. Prosecutors allege that Arrieta sent Webb a heart emoji via text, signaling that the payment had been received and prompting him to storm the room.
The following morning, hotel staff discovered Jimenez’s lifeless body in the room, with a gunshot wound to his chest. Investigators were able to piece together the events leading up to the murder, thanks to several pieces of evidence left at the scene.
Among the items recovered were a white slip-on shoe, a broken necklace, and a grocery store receipt, all of which were traced back to the accused couple. Surveillance footage from the hotel also showed Webb and Arrieta leaving the room shortly before 3:30 a.m. Additionally, the victim’s phone was found along Route 509.
The pair were apprehended and brought to court last week, as reported by KCPQ-TV News. Both Webb and Arrieta are being held on $1 million bail each, with a court appearance scheduled for next month.
The charges against them include first- and second-degree murder. If convicted, they could face severe penalties, including life imprisonment. The case serves as a chilling reminder of the potential dangers lurking in seemingly innocuous encounters.
