AUSTIN, Texas – Billy Miller, a celebrated actor renowned for his performances in popular soap operas such as “The Young and the Restless” and “General Hospital,” passed away on Friday. Miller, who was set to celebrate his 44th birthday on Sunday, was battling manic depression at the time of his death, according to his manager.
Miller’s acting career began with a role in “All My Children” in 2007, marking the start of his successful journey in the world of soap operas. His talent and charisma led him to star in “The Young and the Restless” from 2008 to 2014, where he won three Daytime Emmy Awards for his portrayal of Billy Abbott. His accolades include outstanding supporting actor in a drama series in 2010 and 2013 and outstanding lead actor in a drama series in 2014.
After his stint in “The Young and the Restless,” Miller joined the cast of ABC’s “General Hospital.”
Miller’s acting prowess extended beyond soap operas. He also appeared in TV series like “Suits” and AppleTV+’s “Truth Be Told.” His last acting credit was a guest role on “NCIS” in 2022.
Off-screen, Miller was a successful restaurateur, owning several bars and eateries in Los Angeles. He is survived by his mother, Patricia, and sister Megan. His manager described him as a person with a warm personality, generous spirit, and genuine kindness, who will be greatly missed by friends and colleagues.
In memory of Miller, his manager has requested donations to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.
