Remi Lucidi, a 30-year-old French national known for his daring feats in extreme sports, tragically lost his life after falling from the 68th floor of a residential building in Hong Kong. Known as Remi Enigma in the online world, Lucidi was attempting to scale the Tregunter Tower complex when the fatal incident occurred, as reported by the South China Morning Post. He was declared dead at the location of the incident.
Lucidi arrived at the building around 6 p.m., informing the security guard that he was visiting a friend on the 40th floor. However, when the supposed friend denied knowing Lucidi, security personnel attempted to detain him. By this time, Lucidi had already managed to secure an elevator. Surveillance footage later showed him arriving on the 49th floor and subsequently taking the stairs to the top of the building.
The security team pursuing Lucidi discovered an open hatch leading to the roof, but Lucidi was nowhere to be found. The last sighting of Lucidi alive was at 7:38 p.m., when he was seen tapping on the window of the building’s penthouse. This prompted a housemaid to alert the police.
An unidentified source revealed that Lucidi may have been trapped outside the penthouse, banging on the window for help before the tragic accident. The same source disclosed that the police found Lucidi’s camera at the scene, which contained footage of his other daring exploits. The official cause of death has yet to be announced by the police.
Gurjit Kaur, the owner of the hostel where Lucidi was staying, described him as a “friendly and humble guy.” She added, “He was healthy and fit and happy-faced. I feel very sad.” A hostel worker recalled Lucidi mentioning his plans to hike a mountain during his stay in Hong Kong.
Lucidi’s untimely death has sparked an outpouring of grief from his fans on social media. One Instagram follower wrote, “Rip brother. Sad news no one ever wants to hear about a fellow explorer.” Another expressed disbelief, saying, “I don’t wanna believe it Remi I don’t want to believe it. Rest easy bro I love you.” A third person commented, “You’ll never leave us, you’re unique.”
