US Justice Department reportedly building case against Hamas and its backers following the massacres of October 7th.

The American Federal Bureau of Investigations is gathering testimonies from survivors of the October 7th massacres in southwestern Israel, as well as from relatives of victims killed during the invasion, according to a report by Bloomberg Wednesday.
Citing sources familiar with the investigation, the report claimed that the U.S. Department of Justice is working to build a case against the Hamas terror organization and its financial backers.
As part of the process, FBI officials have been interviewing witnesses who survived the massacres in Israeli towns near the Gaza border, along with the relatives of American citizens killed during the invasion, and former captives held in Gaza.
In some instances, the interviewees provided video footage and text messages to help the bureau reconstruct the timeline of events on October 7th and in an effort to identify some of the terrorists involved in the abductions.
The interviews are part of a broader effort, however, by the Justice Department to crack down not only on Hamas itself, but also to uncover the terror group’s sources of funding and to clarify the means by which Qatar and Iran support the Gaza-based organization.
In particular, the Department is looking into the possibility that financial institutions or assets located in the U.S. are involved in the flow of money to Hamas.
The Justice Department declined to comment on Wednesday’s report.
On Friday, attorneys representing the families of 54 American citizens impacted directly by the October 7th invasion are expected to file a massive $500 million suit against Tehran, demanding damages for mental and physical harm caused as a result of its funding, arming, and training of Hamas terrorists.
The suit is being filed jointly with the United States District Court for the District of Columbia by multiple firms representing the dozens of plaintiffs.
