SAN JACINTO, California – Robyn Bernard, a beloved actress known for her role on the popular soap opera “General Hospital,” has tragically passed away at the age of 64. Bernard’s lifeless body was discovered in an open field behind a business establishment in San Jacinto, California, on Tuesday morning, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.
The renowned actress, who portrayed the character Terry Brock in the long-running soap opera, was pronounced dead at 4:08 a.m. The coroner’s office was able to confirm Bernard’s identity through her fingerprints, following a call for a death investigation.
Authorities have scheduled an autopsy for the following Wednesday, but it may take several weeks for toxicology results to be finalized, potentially shedding light on the cause of death. At this time, detectives do not suspect foul play in Bernard’s untimely passing.
Born on May 26, 1959, in Gladewater, Texas, Bernard embarked on a successful acting career that encompassed various television shows, including “Diva,” “Simon & Simon,” and “Betty Blue.” In 1984, she landed the role of Terry Brock, also known as Terry O’Connor, in “General Hospital,” and remained with the show for 145 episodes before departing in 1990.
Throughout her career, Bernard also made appearances in other TV shows such as “Whiz Kids,” “The Facts of Life,” “Tour of Duty,” and “Kings for a Day.” Her final credited role was as a psychologist in “Voices from High School” in 2002. After this, Bernard largely retreated from the Hollywood limelight.
Bernard is survived by her father, Jerry Wayne Bernard, as well as her two sisters, Crystal and Scarlett.
