An Israeli man was seriously injured in a terrorist ramming attack in Samaria Sunday afternoon.
The attack occurred near Jit Junction (also known as Gitot Junction), which links Route 60 with Route 55, at approximately 4:00 p.m., when a terrorist driving a truck rammed into an Israeli car.
According to preliminary reports, following the attack, the terrorist was shot and neutralized. His exact condition remains unclear.
In a statement released shortly after the attack, the Rescuers Without Borders first-responder group claimed that IDF soldiers stationed nearby responded to the ramming with gunfire, neutralizing the terrorist.
Additional Israeli security forces have been dispatched to the scene and searches launched for possible accomplices.
Magen David Adom and United Hatzalah emergency first responders were called to the scene to treat the injured man and evacuate him to a hospital.
“We provided initial medical treatment at the scene to a young adult approximately 19 years of age who sustained serious injuries,” United Hatzalah EMT and Lev HaShomron Branch Director Shmulik Agassi said.
“Additionally, we provided interventions to several individuals experiencing psychotrauma reactions due to the nature of the incident and exposure to gunfire sounds.”
