A 28-year-old man from California, identified as Andrey Demskiy, was taken into custody on Friday following a violent incident that resulted in the decapitation of his one-year-old son and injuries to his wife and mother-in-law, according to law enforcement officials. The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office reported that the incident began with Demskiy assaulting his wife and mother-in-law in the early hours of the morning.
The two women were able to flee the residence and call for help. However, Demskiy did not cooperate with the sheriff’s deputies who responded to the scene. With the knowledge that the child was still inside the house with his father, the deputies were forced to break into the residence.
The Sheriff’s Office indicated that there was a chance the child had been harmed by his father, who was reportedly unresponsive and physically resistant when the deputies entered the home. The deputies then discovered the decapitated body of the young boy in a bedroom, leading to the belief that Demskiy had used a knife to commit the horrific act.
Following the grim discovery, Demskiy was arrested and is currently detained at the Sacramento County Main Jail. The Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that Demskiy is not eligible for bail.
The mother-in-law, who was also a victim of the violent episode, was taken to a hospital for treatment. While her injuries are serious, they are not expected to be life-threatening.
Demskiy is set to appear in court again on December 24. The shocking incident has left the local community in a state of shock and disbelief, as they struggle to come to terms with the horrifying act of violence that has taken place in their neighborhood.
