A homeless man in Tulsa, Oklahoma, was taken into custody after allegedly assaulting a 71-year-old woman. According to police, the man severely beat the woman and stomped on her face, leaving tread marks. The brutal attack occurred around 5:45 p.m. on August 3, near the intersection of 21st and Sheridan. The police were alerted to the situation by multiple calls reporting an assault on a woman.
Upon arrival, the police found the elderly woman semi-conscious, suffering from severe injuries to her face, head, and body. Witnesses at the scene assisted the woman and directed the police toward the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Donovan Anderson.
According to the police, Anderson confessed to assaulting the woman, claiming he did so because she had said something inappropriate to him. The police believe that the victim had just got off a bus and was on her way home when Anderson attacked her.
The woman, who was found with shoe tread marks, has limited memory of the incident. Despite the severity of her injuries, she is expected to survive. Anderson was subsequently arrested and charged with aggravated assault and battery on an elderly person, as well as assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
The police report also revealed that one of the witnesses followed Anderson after the attack, leading to his arrest.
Despite the traumatic incident, the woman is expected to recover from her injuries. Anderson was booked into the David L. Moss Center on charges of assault and battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault and battery.
