Newcastle, Utah – A man from Newcastle, Utah, was left seriously injured after being attacked by a bull while assisting in the removal of the animal from a stranger’s property.

In the peaceful town of Newcastle, Utah, a routine drive took a devastating turn for Mark Sargent, 44, and his wife. It was during a stop at Old Irontown that an unexpected encounter brought them face to face with danger. Witnessing a fellow resident struggling to corral cattle off his property, Sargent, who possesses extensive experience with livestock, selflessly offered his assistance.

Together, Sargent and the property owner managed to guide a couple of cows away from the premises. However, it was when Sargent used his truck to push a sizable bull towards the exit gate that the situation took a terrifying twist. Inexplicably, the bull turned instead of proceeding through the gate, charging back at Sargent with a shocking display of aggression.

The ferocious animal launched Sargent into the air, tossing him more than 15 feet skyward before gravity sent him crashing 25 feet down a treacherous hillside. The impact resulted in severe injuries, including shattered hip and pelvic bones, as well as multiple bruised ribs.

After enduring hip replacement surgery, Sargent now confronts a prolonged healing process, leading him to anticipate an extended stay at the hospital. In contemplating the events that led to his painful predicament.

Although two other individuals were present during the incident, it was Sargent alone who bore the full brunt of the bull’s charge.

In the aftermath of the incident, law enforcement revealed that no charges were pressed between those involved in the altercation. Indeed, the bull’s owner was successfully located, resulting in the swift removal of the animal from the area.

For the time being, Sargent, a former bull rider, intends to keep his distance from cattle, acknowledging the harrowing experience that has left him profoundly shaken.
