The incident, which occurred around 3:30 p.m. on a recent Thursday, was captured on Williams’ home surveillance system. Williams was alerted to the intrusion by his security app, prompting him to rush home and arm himself with the nearest available weapon, a frying pan.
The 45-year-old man confronted the intruder, using the pan to chase him out of his home located on the 3400 block of West Parker. The surveillance footage shows the intruder fleeing the house, leaping over the front steps in an attempt to escape Williams, who was in hot pursuit, brandishing the frying pan.
The video captures the sound of pounding noises after the two men move out of the frame. Shortly after, the police arrived on the scene and apprehended the alleged intruder, a 33-year-old man. The suspect was transported to the Illinois Masonic Medical Center for treatment and was reported to be in good condition.
Williams, who declined medical treatment, chose to press charges against the intruder. The video of the incident was acquired and shared by the Law and Crime Network on their YouTube channel.
Williams took to social media to share his experience, posting on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. He shared a photograph of the frying pan he used in the altercation, along with a picture of the intruder being loaded into an ambulance. In a series of posts, he described the incident, stating that he had landed some good hits and jokingly suggested that the intruder owed him a new frying pan.
