Man Kills Sister, Delivers Cryptic Message

Anthony Lopez, a 39-year-old man, has been accused of the murder of his older sister, Lisa Rosenzweig, 53, in her South Carolina residence. Lopez made his initial court appearance recently, during which he delivered a mysterious message. The alleged crime took place in Rock Hill, a city in the northern region of South Carolina, near the North Carolina border.

Rosenzweig was found dead in her home on November 9, 2024, after local law enforcement responded to a welfare check. Lopez was identified as a suspect in the case nearly a month later, on December 6, according to local news sources. He was apprehended by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police on the same day and was subsequently extradited back to South Carolina.

During his court appearance, Lopez shared a cryptic message with the media, stating, “Follow God’s law and man’s law,” while maintaining direct eye contact with the camera. He has chosen to represent himself in court, declining the services of an attorney. If found guilty, he could face the death penalty.

Local news sources, citing police reports, revealed that Rosenzweig had suffered a blow to the head. A local contractor who had access to the victim’s home assisted the police in gaining entry. The news of the violent incident left the neighborhood in shock.

One of Rosenzweig’s neighbors, Betty Taylor, expressed her disbelief and sorrow over the incident. She hoped that the incident was accidental and not a case of abuse. She emphasized that Rosenzweig did not deserve such a fate.

Lopez has been denied bail and is currently detained at the York County Detention Center.
