SALT LAKE CITY, UT – Salt Lake City police have made an arrest in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred during a birthday party over the weekendg. Gabriel Vigil, 18, was shot and killed in the early hours of Sunday morning near 300 East and 800 South. The suspect then fled the scene.

According to witnesses and a police affidavit, an argument and physical altercation broke out during the party, with one male individual being kicked out. This individual was later seen arguing with his girlfriend and physically assaulting her inside the party. Witnesses also reported that the same male then proceeded to assault another female before leaving with a group of men.

Tommi Tiara Jude Gallegos, 23, who claimed to be inside the residence during the shooting, has been charged with obstructing justice. However, other witnesses contradicted Gallegos’ statement, saying that she and her sister were actually outside the house during the incident. Witnesses also claim that she had rented the home where the party took place.

Police believe Gallegos provided false information to hinder the investigation into the shooting. She has been booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on charges of obstructing justice.

The investigation into the motive behind the shooting is ongoing. Detectives have established that several individuals involved in the incident were attending the birthday party at the rented residence.
