A tragic incident unfolded at a Maryland trampoline park over the weekend when a man visiting his daughter allegedly shot and killed his ex-wife’s boyfriend. The accused, 30-year-old Quinton Walker, was charged with murder following the fatal shooting of 32-year-old Marcus Whitehead at Sky Zone in Timonium. Walker, who had traveled from Colorado for a prearranged visit with his daughter, surrendered to the police in Anne Arundel County after the incident.

During his bail hearing on Monday, the judge ordered Walker to be held without bail. According to the charging documents, Walker had an altercation with Whitehead at the Sky Zone. Walker claimed that after greeting his daughter, Whitehead was staring at him, prompting Walker to ask if he wanted to talk outside. Walker alleges that Whitehead warned him to keep his distance and threatened to slap him.

The charging documents further reveal that Walker claimed Whitehead stood up and started walking towards him, at which point Walker pulled out his firearm and emptied the magazine. Whitehead was rushed to Shock Trauma around 7 p.m. but was pronounced dead a few hours later.

Baltimore County Police, who were responding at the scene, were informed shortly after the shooting that a man had called 911 and wanted to turn himself in for the Sky Zone shooting. Walker was located in a U-Haul about an hour after the shooting on I-97 in Glen Burnie. He reportedly told police that he wanted to return the U-Haul before turning himself in.

The incident has left the community shaken. Sky Zone, a popular venue for children’s birthday parties, announced it would be closed for the next few days. Local residents expressed their shock and concern, with many finding it hard to comprehend why such a violent incident occurred in their community.

Despite the community’s concerns, police have described the incident as isolated. Walker has a preliminary hearing tentatively scheduled for Sept. 8. Meanwhile, Baltimore County police are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
