McDonald’s Drive-Thru Customer Stabbed in Face with Screwdriver

A woman in Memphis, Tennessee, was reportedly attacked at a McDonald’s drive-thru by another woman who allegedly used a screwdriver as a weapon. The suspect, 39-year-old Ashley Davis, is now in police custody following her arrest by the Memphis Police Department.

The incident took place on November 20, as the victim was placing her order at the drive-thru speaker box. Davis is said to have approached the victim’s stationary vehicle, asking for money. When the victim informed Davis that she had no cash, Davis allegedly brandished what appeared to be a screwdriver and stabbed the victim in the face. Davis is reported to have retorted, “You should’ve had money,” before fleeing the scene.

Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene and spotted Davis running down a nearby street. A chase ensued, during which Davis allegedly resisted arrest and engaged in a physical altercation with the officers. She was eventually apprehended and taken to the Shelby County Jail, where she is being held on a $25,000 bond.

Davis is facing charges of aggravated assault and resisting official detention. She is scheduled to appear in court on December 5. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, received treatment at the scene of the attack.

The McDonald’s outlet, located at 1742 S. Trezevant St. in Memphis, has been associated with several violent crimes in the past. This includes a fatal shooting that occurred on November 14.

This incident highlights the need for increased security measures at fast-food outlets and other public spaces, especially in areas with a history of violent incidents. It also raises questions about the adequacy of current measures in place to protect customers and staff.
