BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — After months of uncertainty, model and songwriter Camela Leierth-Segura, 48, known for her work with pop sensation Katy Perry, has been located safe and unharmed. The Swedish native was reported missing earlier this year, with her last known sighting in August.
Leierth-Segura’s vehicle, a 2010 silver Ford Fusion, was last seen in Beverly Hills in late June. However, it wasn’t until October 5, 2023, that a tip came in from an anonymous source who claimed to have spotted her in Santa Monica, a city roughly 10 miles west of Beverly Hills. This led the Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD) to request assistance from the Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD) in investigating the lead.
Upon locating Leierth-Segura, the SMPD confirmed that she was safe and did not require any police intervention. The exact location of the encounter was not disclosed, respecting her privacy. After verifying her well-being, the SMPD informed the BHPD, who then removed her from the Missing Persons System.
Friends and acquaintances of Leierth-Segura expressed their relief on social media platforms. Cecilia Foss, a close friend, thanked everyone involved in the search efforts, including the BHPD, on Instagram. She also conveyed a request from Leierth-Segura’s family for privacy during this time.
Leierth-Segura’s claim to fame is her co-writing credit on Katy Perry’s 2013 hit “Walking On Air,” the second single from Perry’s fourth studio album, “Prism.” The song debuted at number 34 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number eight on the Billboard Hot Digital Songs in October 2013.
Before her disappearance, Leierth-Segura was reportedly struggling with rent payments in Beverly Hills. Her 19-year-old cat, Morris, was also reported missing. Leierth-Segura’s family, who still reside in Sweden, have not commented on the situation.
