A 35-year-old Florida woman, Kelsey Glover, has been detained at the Osceola County Jail without bail, facing charges for the premeditated murder of her 14-year-old daughter, Giselle. Glover was initially charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery following an alleged attack on her roommate.
Details from Glover’s arrest warrant have shed light on the circumstances surrounding Giselle’s death. The warrant, which includes the murder charge, cites sworn testimony from Glover’s roommate. The roommate revealed that Giselle, who had Type 1 diabetes, relied on an insulin pump for her medication.
According to the roommate’s account, Glover disconnected her daughter from the insulin pump on November 18, which led to Giselle becoming ill, vomiting, and eventually becoming bedridden. The roommate further stated that in the subsequent days, Glover kept Giselle in the master bedroom, using music to mask her cries for help.
On the morning of November 20, Glover reportedly asked her roommate to assist in bathing Giselle. The roommate carried Giselle to the bathroom and placed her in the bathtub. It was then that Glover allegedly began to submerge her daughter’s head under the bathwater, sparking a confrontation between Glover and her roommate.
The roommate attempted to save Giselle while Glover allegedly sought a hammer she had previously threatened to kill her with. Glover then barricaded herself in the bathroom with Giselle and dialed 911. Police reports indicate that upon arrival at the scene, officers noted several holes in the door, consistent with hammer strikes.
Giselle’s father, DJ Glover, was out of state at the time of his daughter’s death. He has since set up a GoFundMe page to cover funeral expenses, a goal that has already been exceeded. On the page, he paid tribute to his daughter, praising her intelligence, beauty, and loving nature. He also expressed his grief over the milestones he would never get to share with her, such as buying her first car or walking her down the aisle.
