GRAND JUNCTION, Colorado — A pregnant woman from Colorado has been arrested for the gruesome murder of her boyfriend, following a dispute over the paternity of their unborn child. Shenting Guo, 32, faces charges of second-degree murder and domestic violence after allegedly stabbing the victim and severing his penis in a fit of anger.
The victim was found on May 14 with a severe knife wound at the Woodspring Suites in Grand Junction, Colorado, and was declared dead at the scene. Guo was later identified as the suspect and arrested. The Mesa County Coroner’s Office is expected to release the victim’s identity once the necessary notifications have been made.
During her police interview, Guo disclosed she had been in a relationship with the victim and admitted to an argument erupting over her pregnancy and doubts about the child’s paternity. She claimed to have stabbed him in the leg out of anger but insisted she did not intend to kill him. Furthermore, Guo shockingly confessed to mutilating the victim by severing his penis.
After the altercation, Guo went to a nearby City Market instead of seeking medical help for the victim’s injuries. Guo only gave the victim ibuprofen and water before eventually reporting his death to the police.
Guo is currently being held at the Mesa County Detention Facility on a $1 million cash bond. The court appearance is scheduled for May 22.
