SALINOPOLIS, Brazil – A tragic incident during a live performance at the Solar Hotel in Salinopolis has resulted in the untimely death of Brazilian musician Ayres Sasaki. On July 13, as Sasaki was on stage, a drenched fan approached and embraced him, leading to a fatal electrocution. The contact with the wet fan caused a nearby cable to discharge a lethal electric shock, instantly claiming Sasaki’s life.
Sasaki, a beloved figure in the music industry, leaves behind his wife, Mariana, whom he had been married to for less than a year. The circumstances surrounding the fan’s wet condition and their injuries remain unclear.
Local law enforcement in Salinopolis has launched an investigation into the incident. The Solar Hotel has expressed its commitment to cooperating fully with the authorities and providing support to the Sasaki family during this difficult time. In an Instagram statement, the hotel stated, “We are fully dedicated to providing support to the Sasaki family… We reaffirm our commitment to fully cooperating with the competent authorities for the proper clarification of the events.”
Tributes have been pouring in from fans and fellow artists in memory of the late singer. Singer Adriano Freitas fondly remembered Sasaki as a charismatic individual with incredible talent. According to Freitas, Sasaki was not just a friend in the music industry, but a friend in everyday life as well. “A super charismatic guy, his talent was incredible. A great friend, very family-oriented, attentive to his friendships, and to those who appreciated his work,” Freitas said.
