VANCOUVER, Washington – Authorities are searching for a suspect after a woman was stabbed in the neck at Clark College on Tuesday. The incident occurred when the victim was sitting outside the Archer building on campus. She reported that an unknown man approached her, desperately screaming for help. Initially thinking she had been punched, she quickly discovered that she had been stabbed when she saw blood, according to the Vancouver Police Department.
The woman was immediately taken to a nearby hospital where she received treatment for her non-life-threatening injuries. In the meantime, the suspect managed to flee the scene on foot. After a brief lockdown, law enforcement was unable to locate the suspect, who was last seen heading northbound towards Water Works Park.
Authorities have released surveillance images of a man who appears to be running away. The suspect is described as an East Asian or Middle Eastern man, aged between 30 and 40, with a beard and medium build. Disturbingly, this is not the first incident involving a person matching the suspect’s description. On Monday, another encounter occurred in one of the college parking lots where a man tried to enter a woman’s car after approaching her, only fleeing when she screamed for help.
The police investigation is ongoing, and they urge anyone with information related to this case to come forward.
The Vancouver Police Department is putting all of their resources into finding the suspect responsible for these attacks. Campus security is also working closely with law enforcement to ensure the safety of the students and faculty. As the investigation continues, authorities ask the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
As the manhunt for the suspect intensifies, the local community anxiously awaits his apprehension.
