PORTLAND, Oregon — An Oregon woman suspected of killing her husband, who had been reported missing in January, was found dead in Washington state, authorities said. Analiesa Golde, the prime suspect in the murder case, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to a statement from the Portland Police Bureau on Wednesday. Golde’s Toyota 4Runner was also recovered at the scene.
The body of Phillip E. Pierce, Golde’s husband, was discovered on January 26th by police officers conducting a welfare check at their home in Portland. The officers deemed the circumstances suspicious and promptly notified the Homicide Unit detectives, who then launched a full investigation. Golde was soon identified as a murder suspect, but her whereabouts remained unknown.
For two weeks, law enforcement expanded their search to southwest Washington, focusing on the areas of Toutle and Mount St. Helens. Finally, authorities located Golde’s lifeless body in Long Beach, Washington, on Tuesday.
Speaking to local station KOIN, Stacy Pierce, the mother of the victim, shared fond memories of her son and expressed the grief felt by those who loved him. The motive behind the homicide has not been disclosed by authorities.
The Portland Police Bureau expressed gratitude to the community for their assistance in the case. Further details regarding the investigation have not been disclosed at this time.
