The tragic discovery of a 15-year-old girl’s body was made in the bay near Sunset Park, Brooklyn, on Sunday morning, as reported by local law enforcement. The teenager, known as Nancy Zheng, was recovered from the water by divers at the northwest corner of Bush Terminal Park around 8:30 a.m. An insider from the police department has stated that there are currently no suspicions of criminal activity involved in the case.

Zheng’s body was seen floating in the bay early Sunday morning, which led a diver to retrieve it. The Zheng family had reported Nancy missing from their home, which is situated a few blocks south of the park on 55th Street, around 8 p.m. on Saturday night.

The police were informed by the family that Nancy had been struggling with suicidal thoughts and had expressed a wish to harm herself. This information has added a new dimension to the ongoing investigation, making it more complex.

Images from the scene showed divers securing Zheng’s body and bringing it to shore. The area where the body was found was cordoned off by investigators as they commenced their work.

A representative from the police department has stated that the medical examiner will be tasked with determining the cause of Zheng’s death. As the local community grieves the loss of a young life, the investigation continues to progress, with the aim of providing some closure to the bereaved family.
