A dispute over a mobile phone turned deadly on Christmas Eve, leaving a 36-year-old man fatally wounded on a Bronx street, according to authorities and video surveillance. The victim, identified as Arkmayer Davis, 30, was stabbed following a heated argument with his attacker inside a local laundromat near East Tremont Avenue and Morris Avenue in Mount Hope around 11:43 a.m.

The surveillance footage reveals the suspected attacker demanding Davis to return his phone. Davis, clad in a dark jacket and hoodie, is seen tossing the phone onto a table before the other man grabs it. The suspect, visibly enraged, then yells at Davis to stay away from him before storming out of the laundromat.

Police later discovered Davis outside the laundromat, his body covered in blood from multiple stab wounds on his chest, legs, and arms. Emergency medical services rushed Davis to Saint Barnabas Hospital, but despite their best efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.

Davis resided just a short distance from the scene of the crime. The perpetrator of the attack remains at large, with authorities actively pursuing leads.

The incident adds to a concerning rise in violent crime in the area. The 46th Precinct, which encompasses Mount Hope and University Heights, has seen a significant increase in homicides. Police data indicates a 92.3% surge in murders, with 25 homicides recorded through December 15, compared to 13 during the same period in 2023.

The tragic incident underscores the escalating violence in the area, prompting calls for increased law enforcement presence and community engagement to curb the rising crime rates. As the search for the assailant continues, the community mourns the loss of Davis, a man whose life was abruptly ended over a trivial dispute.
