BROWNSVILLE, Texas – A 41-year-old woman was taken into custody at SpaceX’s Texas facility after she allegedly trespassed into restricted areas, asserting herself as the spouse of the company’s CEO, Elon Musk.
The woman, identified as Su Young Boudreau, was discovered wandering in an area of the facility designated for employees only. When questioned by security personnel, she identified herself as Musk’s wife. The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, prompted a response from the Cameron County Sheriff’s Office.
Upon arrival, deputies collaborated with SpaceX security staff to investigate the situation. Surveillance footage was reviewed, and it was confirmed that Boudreau had no affiliation with SpaceX Industries and was not Musk’s wife. Despite the evidence, Boudreau insisted she was returning home to her husband, Musk.
Boudreau was subsequently arrested on suspicion of criminal trespass and transported to the Carrizalez-Rucker Detention Centre without further incident. A police report was filed on September 25, and Boudreau was warned to stay away from SpaceX premises.
The mug shot of Boudreau showed her with her eyes closed and some inflammation around her left eye. It remains unclear whether this was a result of her arrest. The nature of Boudreau’s connection to Musk, if any, is still unknown.
Musk, the 52-year-old billionaire owner of Tesla, has been married three times and has had 11 children with different partners. He has not publicly commented on the trespassing incident at SpaceX.
The incident serves as a reminder of the security challenges faced by high-profile companies and individuals. The Cameron County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident, and further details are expected to be released in due course.
