GLACIER NATIONAL PARK, Montana — A tragic incident occurred at Glacier National Park when a 26-year-old woman from Pennsylvania fell over a 35-foot waterfall and lost her life, according to park officials. The fatal incident took place near St. Mary Falls at around 5:20 p.m. on Sunday.

After slipping into the water, the young woman was carried over the waterfall and submerged for a number of minutes. Bystanders at the scene acted swiftly, pulling her out of the water and administering CPR until park rangers and ambulance personnel arrived.

Sadly, the Pennsylvania resident was pronounced dead at approximately 7 p.m. that evening. The park authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.

Glacier National Park, known for its stunning natural beauty, has seen drowning and falls as the leading causes of death among visitors. In a similar incident last year, a 28-year-old woman lost her life after falling into one of the park’s creeks. In 2017, a 26-year-old man fell into a creek while taking photographs and was swept off a steep cliff, resulting in his death.

The park has expressed its deepest condolences to the woman’s family and friends, requesting that their privacy is respected during this difficult time. Authorities are actively investigating the incident, but no additional information has been released at this time.
