Country music legend Dolly Parton has announced that she will be delaying her upcoming Las Vegas residency due to health concerns. The 79-year-old singer shared the news on Instagram, stating that she needs to undergo several medical procedures as advised by her doctors.
Parton expressed her regret at having to postpone the concerts, stating that she wanted her fans to hear the news directly from her. She has been dealing with health issues recently, which necessitate these procedures. She humorously referred to the situation as her “100,000-mile check-up,” but assured fans that it was not related to her usual visits to her plastic surgeon.
The singer, known for hits like “9 to 5,” emphasized that she wants to be at her best for her fans, acknowledging that they invest their hard-earned money to see her perform. While she will continue to work on her projects from her Nashville base, she needs some time to prepare for her shows.
Parton reassured her fans that she has no plans to retire from the music industry. She believes that her current health situation is a sign from a higher power to slow down and prepare for more significant adventures with her fans in the future.
The singer also provided rescheduled dates for her Las Vegas residency, initially set to begin in December. The show, titled “Dolly: Live in Las Vegas,” will take place at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Parton expressed her excitement about the upcoming shows, stating that she has always enjoyed performing in Las Vegas.
Earlier this month, Parton had to cancel an appearance at her theme park, Dollywood, due to kidney stones. She followed her doctor’s advice to rest and recover. She also took a break from her music career over the summer following the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, in March.
Parton concluded her Instagram post by expressing her love for her fans and thanking them for their understanding. She assured them that she is looking forward to performing in Las Vegas and hopes they are as excited as she is.
