West Palm Beach, Fl – October 14, 2005 – Today Daniel Imperato, 2008 Presidential Hopeful, issued a statement in regards to Syria and the recent death of the Syrian Interior Minister.

“My condolences go out to the family of Syrian Interior Minister Ghazi Kanaan. Regardless of the situation at hand no one deserves to be put through the grief of losing a loved one,” spoke Imperato, “Obviously there is more behind the scenes than it is to be seen.”

On another note, Imperato pointed out that the content from his previous press releases have caught the attention of American media, in particular CNN.

“My congratulations and thanks to one of my most favorite CNN correspondents Christine Amanpour who I believe has answered my message pertaining to my September 23, 2005 press release about the subject matter of President Al-Assad, his borders, his sincerity and commitment to peace,” pointed out Imperato.

“During the interview between President Al-Assad and Christine Amanpour, Al-Assad clearly showed his peaceful posture and willingness to participate in the peace process. This reassures the contents of my press release of September 23, 2005 pertaining to my high regard for President Al-Assad, the young man who inherited the throne from his father and obviously realizes that he has big shoes to fill.”

Imperato went on to urge the Bush administration and the people of the United States of America to reconsider the plans of action pertaining to Syria and the threat of military action or sanctions against President Al-Assad and his country.

“It sickens me to think that our administration may be planning a coup to replace President Al-Assad when they should be embracing him and assisting him with his huge responsibility of controlling his country and diplomatically handling what I feel is the difference between the old world Damascus and the new world society,” stated Imperato.

According to Imperato’s vision Syria is of key importance to the giant puzzle that is the Middle East peace process.

“This country [Syria] and its young leader President Al-Assad in my opinion has the political key to prevent the major catastrophic war that could break out in the region,” expressed Imperato.

“If and when I have the chance to represent the people of the United States of America and the rest of the world I would say peace not war. I would say to Saddam Hussein, repent and support peace in Iraq. I would consider embracing the new Iranian leader and dealing with him with honey instead of sour cream. As for President Bashar Al-Assad of Syria I would embrace him like I would embrace my son and I would ask for his cooperation with his fine line of peace, or else we face an Armageddon scenario which could in effect become reality. We need Syria, and we need peace.”

Imperato continuing in his message for universal peace appealed to the recent religious holidays.

“With yesterday’s Yom Kippur, the day of atonement, on the 10th day of the seventh month and currently being in the month and the 10th day of Ramadan, we are reminded that our faiths call for peace, reconciliation, and forgiveness for your neighbor. If and when I have the chance to represent the United States of America I call for a cease fire and a meeting between the leaders of Israel, Palestine, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, and a representative from the Arab league alongside of my administration. With God’s will I will have a chance to organize this collaboration in the region to be able to speak out and prove that it’s all about peace and not war,” said Imperato.

“With God’s will, I will have the chance to organize this collaboration in the region and be able to speak out and prove that its all about peace, not war, and that our administration and the political leaders in the region must set aside their personal agendas before we reach an Armageddon.”

Imperato finished his statement with the following remarks, “As a born Catholic, spirit-filled Christian, Torah-keeper, with knowledge of the Koran, I stand for peace, and I ask the world to stop labeling Catholic, Christian, Muslim, Jew, Buddhist, and to begin labeling the people as human beings, and to reestablish mutual beneficial respect for what I believe is everybody’s wishes and desires to live and worship peacefully and freely. We should not hold on to learned hate that families have passed on from generation to generation. We must all understand that we live in one world and through our faiths and principles strive for peace, harmony, love, and consideration. We need all to realize that without that philosophy we can never think of a peaceful outcome whether its on the borders of Mexico and the United States or the borders of Iraq and Syria, or anywhere else in the world. I once again call out to the leaders to place them in the position for supporting peace.”
