A 45-year-old Texas man, Wesley Worl, is facing legal repercussions after allegedly approaching two young girls in an elementary school parking lot while wearing only a diaper and a pacifier around his neck. According to local law enforcement, Worl is accused of shouting, “Goo goo ga ga, I need a diaper change,” during the incident which took place last Wednesday at Andy Woods Elementary School in Tyler.
Worl has been charged with criminal solicitation of a minor and criminal trespass. The charges stem from allegations that he approached the children as they were riding their bikes and scooters in the vicinity of the school.
Public Information Officer Andy Erbaugh of the Tyler Police Department confirmed Worl’s arrest. He was apprehended at his workplace later in the day after the girls identified him.
According to the arrest affidavit obtained by local ABC affiliate KLTV, the girls sought help from a nearby resident after the incident. The affidavit describes the girls as “visibly shaking” and “truly petrified.”
The affidavit also alleges that Worl asked the girls, “Will you change my diaper for me?” before they fled. The girls were so terrified that they fell and skinned their knees while trying to reach safety. They described their pursuer to the residents as a “scary man.”
Court records reveal that Worl has a history of criminal charges dating back to 1999. His past offenses include stalking and inappropriate behavior towards children. In one instance, he was found with his hand in his shorts and when questioned by the police, he claimed he was checking his diaper.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance in ensuring the safety of children in public spaces. It also underscores the need for swift and decisive action when such incidents occur.
