A 21-year-old man was reportedly kidnapped from a McDonald’s in Davie, Florida, leading to a high-speed chase across Broward County that ended in Pompano Beach. The pursuit resulted in multiple arrests, damaged vehicles, and a widespread crime scene, according to officials. The incident involved the Davie police, Fort Lauderdale police, and the Broward Sheriff’s Office, who were alerted after the victim claimed he was forced into a vehicle and later assaulted.
The authorities have since arrested three adults and charged several juveniles in connection with the kidnapping. The investigation is ongoing, with detectives examining video footage, witness accounts, and cellphone data to establish the sequence of events and the roles of all those involved. There are still unanswered questions about the motive behind the abduction and whether more suspects could be implicated.
The incident began around 1:24 p.m. on Thursday at a McDonald’s on State Road 84 in Davie. The victim’s phone was allegedly stolen from his table, and he was instructed to get into a vehicle to retrieve it. The group then drove him to Fort Lauderdale, where he was forced out of the vehicle and assaulted. The victim managed to flag down help and call 911, which triggered a regional alert.
The suspects’ vehicle was tracked using the phone’s location data, leading to a pursuit on Interstate 95. Witnesses reported seeing cash being thrown from the vehicle during the chase, which ended when a white SUV crashed into a traffic-light pole in Pompano Beach. Six people were detained at the scene, and three adults were later charged with kidnapping.
The adults, identified as Tracey Ross, 30; Lamar Perry, 18; and Timothy Brown, 18, are facing charges related to the abduction. Ross is also charged with fleeing at high speed and resisting an officer, while Perry is facing additional charges, including possession of a firearm by a minor and grand theft of a motor vehicle. Several juveniles were also charged in connection with the pursuit and crash.
The investigation has led to a multi-agency response, with several blocks around the crash site being locked down as heavily armed teams searched a nearby apartment complex. Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage from the restaurant, license-plate reader hits along the route, and body-camera recordings from responding officers to clarify the sequence of events.
Court appearances began on Friday, with relatives of two suspects addressing a judge and speaking with reporters. The mother of suspect Timothy Brown expressed shock at her son’s involvement, stating that he had never been in such serious trouble before. Perry’s aunt revealed that her nephew had called her during the pursuit, admitting that he was in a “high-speed chase.”
The investigation remains open, with additional charges possible as detectives analyze surveillance footage and witness statements. The next step is the filing of formal charges and the release of full arrest reports early next week.
