Missing Boy Discovered on Top of Monorail Track 100 Feet Above Ground

A young boy was spotted walking along a monorail track nearly 100 feet above the ground at Hersheypark, Pennsylvania, after he was separated from his parents. The incident, which occurred on Saturday, drew a crowd of park-goers who watched in horror as the child navigated the high track.

The video of the incident shows park attendees waving their arms at the child, directing him to walk along the tracks towards a nearby building. A man was seen on the roof of the building, his arms outstretched, ready to catch the boy. Shouts of encouragement can be heard from the crowd below, urging the boy to move towards the man on the roof.

The boy had been reported missing by his parents around 5 p.m. During the search for him, he managed to enter a secure area for the monorail ride, according to a statement from Hersheypark. He was at a monorail station for approximately 20 minutes before he began walking along the track.

A park guest eventually climbed onto the rail and rescued the boy. Park officials then reunited the unharmed child with his parents around 5:30 p.m. At the time of the incident, the monorail was closed and its entrance was secured with a chained closure and a barricaded turnstile at the platform.

In their statement, Hersheypark expressed gratitude for the vigilance of their guests and the quick response of their team. They reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining high safety standards throughout the park.

This incident follows a tragic event at the same park just weeks earlier, when a 9-year-old girl drowned in the wave pool. The girl, Sophia Subedi, was pulled from the water in front of shocked witnesses.
