President Donald Trump hinted on Wednesday that he may order another round of strikes against Iran, this time targeting the country’s energy infrastructure and bridges.

Speaking with Fox News, Trump said that is considering instructing the military to strike Iranian power plants and bridges, accusing Iran’s leadership of slow-walking nuclear talks.

The interview was published shortly after the president declared that Iran’s military had been “completely defeated” and praised the US naval blockade on Iranian ports, as Washington and Tehran exchanged blows following the downing of an American helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump made the comments in a Truth Social post after US forces carried out strikes on Iranian military targets and Iran launched missiles and drones toward US-linked facilities in the region.

“Iran’s Military is a complete and total mess,” Trump wrote. “Much of it, like their Navy and Air Force, doesn’t even exist anymore – They have been completely defeated.”

Mirroring his comments to Fox News, Trump wrote that Iran has “taken too long” to accept America’s terms in negotiations, and hinted a possible strikes.

“Iran is all talk and no action. The Bully of the Middle East is DEAD!!! They’ve taken too long to negotiate a deal that would have been great for them, now they will have to pay the price!”

The president also said that the blockade of Iranian ports has reduced the Islamic Republic’s oil exports to “zero,” adding that the Iranian closure of the Strait of Hormuz has largely failed. “Lots of oil is getting out,” Trump wrote.

“The Fake News Media refuses to report how EFFECTIVE the U.S. Naval BLOCKADE is, the most successful Blockade in the history of Naval Warfare. NOTHING GETS THROUGH unless we want it to. IT IS A STEEL WALL! Iran is doing ZERO business, not paying their military, or any of their bills, and quickly becoming a FAILED NATION! Lots of oil is getting out. Praise be to Allah!”

The post followed a new round of US military action near the Strait of Hormuz. US Central Command said American forces completed what it described as self-defense strikes against Iran on Tuesday, after the US said Iran was responsible for the downing of an AH-64 Apache helicopter. Both crew members were rescued.

CENTCOM said the strikes targeted Iranian air-defense systems, ground-control stations and surveillance radar sites. Reuters reported that the US operation lasted nearly four hours and targeted about 20 Iranian military assets.

Iran responded by launching missiles and drones toward US bases and facilities in Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain, according to US and regional reporting. Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain all reported air-defense activity, and initial reports did not indicate damage to US bases or injuries to US personnel.
